Skip Cornelius graduated from Baylor University in 1971 with degrees of Bachelor Of Business and Juris Doctor and began working for Brown & Root as an attorney. In 1972 Mr. Cornelius began working for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as a trial lawyer where he first-chaired more than 160 felony jury trials to a verdict and many misdemeanors. He was Chief of the 185th District Court for four years and the 184th District Court for one year. In 1974 he attended the National College Of District Attorneys.In 1980 Skip began working for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Public Corruption and Bank Fraud and Embezzlement Sections. In 1981 he taught at the Attorney General’s Trial Advocacy Institute at Main Justice in Washington, D.C. in both the Trial and Appellate Sections.

In 1982 Mr. Cornelius began practice as a criminal defense attorney and to date has twenty years of experience in this area of the law. Skip has been lead counsel in more than 200 criminal jury trials of all kinds, ranging from DWI to Capital Murder, in both state and federal courts in Texas and many other states. Mr. Cornelius has handled a considerable amount of appellate work as well.
